MARINA STATION MAILER MISLEADING

February 15, 2008

On or about February 14th the residents of Marina received a bulk mailing from the developers:CREEKBRIDGE NEWS.

On the front page under the heading of Marina Station: Make the Connection it states in the eighth paragraph “There will be a place for everyone within its 887 single-family and 473 multi-family homes.”

On the second page of the flyer under the heading CreekBridge a State Leader in Green Building it has a subheading that reads “Marina Station to Have ‘Green Streets’ and Every Home to have Solar Panels” The truth is that not every home will have solar panels. Only the 887 single-family homes are to have solar panels. This is 65.2% of the homes not 100%. In the body of the article it goes on to state “All CreekBridge homes within the Marina Station neighborhood would be fitted with a 16 photovoltaic solar panel system….”

At best the above reference is misleading and confusing. As a member of the planning commission I was actively involved with the other commissioners in addressing the issue of solar panels. At that time the representatives of CreekBridge acknowledged that only the single-family homes would have solar panels.

THIS FLYER WAS MAILED AFTER THE COMMISSION HAD VOTED. BELOW, UNDER SPECIAL MEETING OF FEB. 7TH, ARE SEVERAL REASONS WHY I VOTED AGAINST THE MARINA STATION PROJECT.
